ICMC 2014 – what an experience!

I worked for the joint ICMC|SMC|2014 Conference that took place in Athens, Greece, from 14 to 20 September 2014.

Served as a member of the music jury. As one of the curators I prepared electroacoustic fixed media and mixed media concerts for the conference.

As a technical adviser at IEMA (Center of Research in Music and Acoustics), one of the key organizers of the conference, I was part of the team that designed the two main sound systems for the concerts and collaborated with the Onassis Cultural Center house engineers and stage crew in running rehearsals and concerts during the whole of the conference.

I had the chance to meet and work with so many top figures in the Electroacoustic and Computer Music field – in tight time schedules and real concert conditions – a fantastic experience!

I performed sound diffusion of fixed media musical works, including my piece Materialization

Last but not least, I did a presentation/workshop on circuit bending and improvisation, which matched to a late night performance on circuit bent devices.
